Whilst not as environmentally friendly as my other great British export (see below), we’ve still consolidated the CO2 emissions of two cars into one (and managed to reduce them in the process). 7 years after selling my Discovery, it’s back in the form of the Discovery 3. For the last month or so, I’ve been travelling to work using the environmentally-friendly combination of train and bike. And I’m pleasantly surprised by how much more enjoyable it is than sitting in a traffic jam on the A33 contributing yet more CO2 to the problem of global warming (if it exists?). More…

People keep pestering me to update my blog so, just for you people, here’s a new posting. It’s not particularly interesting and it doesn’t have a picture, but I hope to bring lots of new and exciting stories soon about my new cycle commuting regime, bikes, South West Trains, Virgin Trains (boooooooo!), cars and much, much more!

News that Richard Hammond - presenter of BBC’s Top Gear and Sky One’s Brainiac - has been seriously injured whilst driving a jet-powered car made its way through the wires yesterday evening. Some reports state that he was trying to break the British land speed record and was approaching 300 mph when he lost control of the jet-propelled vehicle.
This morning, he remains seriously ill in a neurological ward in Leeds General Infirmary. His wife and co-presenters are at his bedside. More…

Listening to the review of the papers on the Today Programme this morning on my way into work, my ears pricked-up at the mention of my former secondary school; The Toynbee School in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire. It transpires as though the school is now a designated “Sports College” and their team of under-14 girls have progressed to the England under-14 girls’ football National Cup Final. The only thing missing, however, is a venue for the big game. More…
